Westport

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Westport Records was established in 1955 by the Ruf brothers--Dave G., Henry, and Thomas Ruf. The label released twenty-plus singles between 1955 and 1962 by artists such as Jimmy Dallas, Milt Dickey, Big Bob Dougherty, The Home Folks, Elmo Linn, Ronnie & Marlene, Gene Chapman, and their own family (their children) band The Westport Kids. Alvis Wayne and Lee Finn were the only artists that recorded rockabilly for Westport. The labels of the records contain the slogan "Port of the West".
