KREIDLER (Kreidler’s Metall- und Drahtwerke G.m.b.H. Fahrzeugbau Kornwestheim) was a German manufacturer of mopeds and light motorcycles from 50 to 80 cc. The company was founded in 1889 in Stuttgart. The mopeds were very popular in Germany in the 1960s / 70s, nevertheless the company went bankrupt in 1982. Both buildings in Stuttgart-Heslach are still standing today, whereby the exterior facades could be preserved almost to the original.
Today, the KREIDLER brand belongs to the two-wheeled manufacturer Prophete.
