Denver Museum Of Contemporary Art

American art museum, established in 1996 and located in Denver, Colorado. The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) became the city's first dedicated contemporary art institution. (Also known as "Denver Museum of Contemporary Art," or DMOCA.) Some of the prominent artists exhibited at MCA Denver over the years include Tatiana Blass, Brian Bress, Damien Hirst, Jonas Burgert, David Altmejd, Chris Ofili, Lorraine O'Grady, Jane Hammond (2) and Mark Mothersbaugh. It also regularly hosted music events featuring local, nationwide and international artists and DJs in various genres, from avant-garde noise to folk music, and produced a series of CD albums.
