Duke Street Records

Canadian label based out of Toronto founded by Andrew Hermant. Featuring only Canadian musicians, artists have included pop (Art Bergmann, Chalk Circle, Jane Siberry, etc.), jazz (Aaron Davis, Moe Koffman, Manteca, etc.), folk (Willie P. Bennett, Don Ross, etc.), jazz fusion (Purple Changes, Vito Reza, etc.), and classical (Orpheus Choir of Toronto, Steven Staryk, etc.) Some early releases were manufactured & distributed by A&M Records Of Canada Limited before the company signed a distribution deal with WEA Music Of Canada, Ltd. By the early 1990s distribution was via MCA Records. Some releases were also distributed via Columbia House. Originally a division of PAJA Company Limited, in approximately 1993 the company became a division of Horsefeathers Music Company Inc.
