Direct Hit Remix Service
Настоящее имя: Direct Hit Remix Service
Defunct US DJ remix service that concentrated on house, euro, Hi-NRG, and other club music. They operated from 1993 to 1999 and employed several producers/remixers that previously worked on the Rhythm Stick service. It is rumored that Direct Hit was forced out of business after failing to ask Warner Bros. permission to re-edit a Madonna track on one of the later "Sector" issues.
The first Direct Hit series from 1993 to 1996 was released with the "Volume" name, consisting of 17 numbered issues available on triple 12" vinyl and CD.
The second Direct Hit series from 1996 to 1999 was released with the "Sector" name, with 24 numbered issues (plus a special one-shot "80's Rewind" CD-R) that were available both on CD and in triple 12" vinyl format like the "Volume" series but with substantially fewer vinyl copies of each issue in the series than with the "Volume" series. This was part of the label's plan to ultimately release future issues solely on CD. As it turned out, they realized this goal by releasing their final 2 issues on CD-R, before the company folded.
All tracks on both Series were with either Digital Mixes or Digital Remixes
Digital Mix to just re-edit the track from a digital source
Digital Remix was more than just an edit and additional production was used
