Recycled Music
Настоящее имя: Recycled Music
One of the most popular of the RRR sub-labels is the Recycled Music series, which consists of used cassette tapes of pop and rock music that have been taped over with new music by a noise band.
The Recycled cassettes started to appear in 1992 and have been coming out since. In the early 2000's Ron Lessard did open calls online for submissions. Which led to a total of over 50 releases in 2003-2004. The series was energized in 2008 when around 100 releases was done during a single year.
RRRecycled tapes are labeled with a simple strip of adhesive tape along the spine of the insert with the artist's name hand-written upon it and "Recycled" as title. Part of the charm of the recycled releases is that each tape is unique, and that, in some cases, the original audio is still partly audible.
Cassettes have been sold for $4 each, in order to encourage curious listeners to take a chance on a band they may not have heard of.
Note for submitters: Please do not add tape lengths to format (like C30, C60...). Due to the nature of being recycled, these tapes can have various lengths.
