Liberty Records GmbH
Настоящее имя: Liberty Records GmbH
Subsidiary German branch of Liberty Records, Inc., launched in the middle of 1967. When the company was founded, the manager Siegfried E. Loch was the youngest record company executive within Germany.
At the same time Liberty Records, Inc. started the British branch Liberty Records Limited. Both companies had a corresponding cat# system.
The US trust Transamerica Corporation acquired United Artists Records, Inc. in summer 1967, and Liberty Records, Inc. followed in summer 1968. It was decided to merge both companies. The results had some delay, of course. Around late 1968 or early 1969 the United Artists Records releases appeared with the company credit Liberty Records GmbH.
Since approximately spring 1969 the new company credit Liberty/UA GmbH appeared on the releases. However, we frequently find a mix of both companies credited either on the cover or the label perimeter text. Please link both companies if they appear and denote where to find at the release notes.
The German releases of Sunset Records started in 1968 and this early versions show the Liberty Records GmbH credit, together with the printer Carl v. d. Linnepe. The printer company was renamed to Druckhaus Maack KG early in 1972. Some releases with the Liberty Records GmbH credit and the Druckhaus Maack are known. They date of course 1972 or later.
The common pressing company for the releases was Sonopress. The runouts are stamped throughout and usually show "Made in Germany". The matrix for LPs usually starts with C.
