E2-E4

E2-E4 Records is an American independent record store and cassette label that opened in Baltimore, Maryland, in early 2020. It's named after E2-E4, the second solo album by German musician and Ash Ra Tempel founder, Manuel Göttsching. As a record store, which appears to be inactive as a "brick-and-mortar" location anymore, E2-E4 specialized in new and used imported and domestic house, acid, breakbeat, techno, ambient, experimental electronica, and other similar genres on vinyl and cassettes. In September 2021, E2-E4 presented its first release as a label, In Lo Fidelity cassette reissue of the eponymous '93 mixtape by Matmos, one of Baltimore's most prominent electronic bands. The limited edition of 200 copies came with new artwork by Owen Gardner. For the next release in April 2022, the label published From Fountains To Sewers, a third solo album by Martin Schmidt. The cassette limited to 120 copies features several guest members, such as Drew Daniel, John Hoegberg, Thomas Dimuzio, and Will Schorre.
