Fred Lang Television (KFL TV) was established by Fred Lang Sr. in February 1966, to cover the Kirkland Lake Winter Carnival. It was one of the first closed circuit commercial television stations and featured shows such as "Freddy The DJ," where Fred Lang Jr. would spin records for teens to dance to on live television. KFL recorded local bands and talent, broadcasting them to viewers in the Kirkland Lake area. The station also held a annual telethon for various local causes and televised numerous events in Kirkland Lake's downtown area. Fred Lang Sr. passed away in 1998 and his Supreme Cable company was subsequently sold.
