Losing Face Records
Настоящее имя: Losing Face Records
Losing Face Records came into being as an extension of an Albany NY based fanzine titled "Losing Face", which was create by Byron Wheeler of locally based band Wrath in 1997.
In 1997 the first official release on Losing Face Records titled "Losing Face compilation", which brought together some of the best bands from the Northeastern part of the U.S. including Bane, Cipher, Inner Dam, Straight Jacket, Indecision, Withstand, Down Foundation, Section 8, Husk, Solace, and more.
After the 1998 release of the Wrath "Twisted and Tormented" CD, Byron teamed up with long time friend and local hardcore kid Lindwood Bingham to release Down Foundation's "This Time Is Ours" CD at the end of that same year.
Starting with the release of the Breed/Extinction "Alaska" CD in 2002, Linwood assumed most of the promotion and financing of all subsequent releases, with Byron taking a smaller roll in assisting with promotion and distribution.
By the time the Burning Bridges "The Best Revenge" CD was released Linwood had assumed complete control of the label.
The final release on Losing Face Records was the Seemless (members of Killswitch Engage and Overcast) debut album in 2004, which was quickly picked up and re-released by Equal Vision Records. There were several thousand CDs manufactured under Losing Face Records label with the same recording used for the Equal Vision Release but with different artwork. Very few of these were distributed due to the band signing with Equal Vision Records before the Losing Face CDs were released to the public.
Rumors state that most of the substantial investment for the original recording and pressing of the Seemless CD manufactured for Losing Face were never recouped, which lead to the demise of the label.
*On the back cover of the Equal Vision Records release of the Seemless CD, Losing Face Records is mentioned as being a co-partner in the release.
