Jazzberry's
Настоящее имя: Jazzberry's
Jazzberry's was a popular restaurant and nightclub that started on Monroe Avenue in 1984 and moved in 1990 to East Avenue under the new name Jazzberry's Uptown.
Jazzberry's defies easy categorization. It was a nightclub with performances by legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Buddy Guy and up-and-coming artists who might have gotten their first gig there. The music was a quirky smorgasbord of styles: jazz, blues, alternative rock, classical music, even lute concerts.
Jazzberry's was a hit. But financial problems led to the site closure in April 1992. The last concert, as it turned out, was by blues legend Albert Collins.
