Gene Norman Presents
Настоящее имя: Gene Norman Presents
US label and record company. The label was introduced approximately 1954 as Gene Norman Presents, when Gene Norman was a concert arranger and owned the Crescendo night club in Los Angeles. Many jazz releases were recorded there. Circa 1956, the label design changed to GNP, underlined with "Gene Norman Presents" on white background (45s: from GNP-113). In 1962 the label appearance changed to GNP Crescendo, red background, bold white letters on the top perimeter. Later the design changed to a horizontal wording on top. In 1963 Norman sold his night club to concentrate on the label and the repertoire changed from just jazz to a wide range of popular music. The label on light blue background was the first appearance and released only jazz. It appeared still after 1955 on none US releases. The wording may also appear for copyright and license or similar company tasks later on.
