Modern Tapes is a small label (started in Chicago, currently based in Brooklyn) focused on releasing music by individuals and groups who make sounds we like. Often there are synths and drum machines involved but not always. cassettes and their digital counterparts. made by hand and with care. we make limited edition tapes and their respective mp3 versions available to people. post-punk, minimal synth, noise, experimental, etc.
