Mattel-O-Phone
Настоящее имя: Mattel-O-Phone
The Mattel-O-Phone was a toy telephone that played custom 4" plastic records.
Introduced in 1965 and was sold until the 1970s
Each side had 4 separate grooves running parallel on the disc, thus playing randomly depending on where the stylus began to track.
The audio consisted of short "phone conversations" with one of the four characters, played through the telephone receiver.
The original Mattel-O-Phone was a generic red but special "Mother Goose", "Barbie", "Peanuts" & "Dr. Seuss" versions would later be sold as well.
The discs were usually either black or white but other colours can be found also.
While technically playable on any turntable, the 1/4" spindle hole is too small for conventional record players and the playback speed is approximately 60 RPM.
