Zensor was founded in 1980 by Burkhardt Seiler.
As a record shop (already opened in 1979) and label, Zensor marked decisive and radical impulses on the German music scene since the end of the 70ties. The Zensor-Label comprehends different styles of music like: Industrial Music, Satie, Black Roots Soul, German Noize Muzac, African Pop Music, Country Pop, Cajun. It was one of the first German independent labels.
