Fort Pfyn was part of the chain of fortifications of the Danube-Iller-Rhine Limes (DIRL), which developed in late antiquity, and is located in Switzerland, Canton Thurgau, district Frauenfeld, political municipality Pfyn. Probably founded in the late 4th century AD, the fort was part of the rear fortification line of the DIRL, which was built to protect the long-distance routes of the Roman Empire under Diocletian and Constantine I.
