Forgotten Blood

Forgotten Blood was a Portuguese cassette label founded by Bruno Ardo in 1993 and closed in 1998. It specialized in experimental music with esoteric and mystical themes. The thematic and lyrical inspirations were often drawn from the religious traditions of pagan Europe; with specific interest focused on ancient Portugal and Callaecia in particular. The musical inspiration arose from traditional Portuguese folk music, industrial music, and ritual music. The artists involved were intimately related in close friendships, and they often musically collaborated with each other. Together they created a very distinctive aural aesthetic, typically utilizing only acoustic instruments. All Forgotten Blood releases were released in strictly limited editions. The cassette packaging exhibited luxurious hand-crafted methods; utilizing organic materials such as leather and wood, and rich textiles like cloth and velvet. B. Ardo founded a new label in 2007 named Folcastro.
