Snake's Music was a well known Polish record company that roots back to the early 90s. The company was founded in 1992 and based in Sosnowiec on the initiative of the future president, Dariusz Wąż and Artur Kubica. Other members of the Snake's Music team were: D.J. Janusz Nowak (responsible for music selection that were published on various compilations), Jacek Pluta and Gayga vel MC Diva.
The company licenced released and distributed mainly Italo / Dance / Pop compilations and albums. They accuired an exclusive license to distribute Euro House and Eurodance across Poland. Snake's Music played a very important role in this regards.
The company gained a massive success due to music cassette distribution with Dance music compilations (this was the time when CD players were hardly available in Poland). The CD compilations were also released, but in much less quantities. At this time, the CD was still an "exclussive" media in Poland.
Between 1992 and 1994 Snake's Music released mainly music cassettes and CDs for retail sale. In 1994, the company decided to release music on vinyl format. Serries "Hot Dance Edition - Special DJ Edition" (Mini LP Compilation) was aimed towards radio and club DJs actively promoting and playing Dance music.
In October 1994 Snake's Music started releasing Promotion Dance Hits Of serries that continued until May 1997. The serries was compiled by D.J. Jamar. A DJ located in Tczew, Poland.
Looking back in time, it has to be admitted that these compilations make a huge impression due to the track selection. On many ocassions, some remixes or extended versions were only available on Snake's CDs with master copy that has never been released elswhere. The compilation came out in two formats, CD and MC and is highly collectible in Poland.
In 1995 Snake's Music adds Maxi CD single to their catalogue. Also, this is the year when company focus more on Dance music producers from Poland. A big success was gain with Polski Power Dance series.
Snake's Music actively supported Polish prducers. Artists like I&I (3), Stachursky, Izabela (2), M&M (12) gained massive success with Snake's Music.
Sometime in the middle of 1995, Snake's start licencing their music to other countries. Romanian record label Roton releasing Hit News Vol. 1 on MC with cooperation with Snake's Music. Also Czech division of Snake's Music is created. Snake's Music Czech is prduced by Lubomír Šnyta. The first release of Snake's Music Czech is Snake's Dance Mania Vol. 1 '96.
The Polish law status for Snake's Music was S.C., which stands for "Spółka Cywilna". Sometime in the late 90s the company changed their status from S.C. to P.M. which stands for "Przedsiębiorstwo Muzyczne". In 2000s, yet again, the company change the status for Sp. Z.o.o, which stands for "Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością".
The company fully operates until early 2003. They still releasing compilations and Maxi singles that are being due to release. However, due to, slowly dying styles like Euro House and Eurodance, Snake's Music compilations and releases slowly starting to disappearing from the market.
On October 28, 2002 Snake's Music lost their phonograpic licence. That was the end of the giant from Poland.
