Island Series

Popular subsidiary imprint of 1970s Canadian label Caravan concentrating on releasing the current Caribbean music of the time (most often from Barbados). The label re-released albums from Caribbean labels including Merry Disc, WIRL, RA, and Bestway. When re-releasing material from Merry Disc, catalog numbers were left as is (MMS-####). Material from the other labels sometimes retained its original catalog number, but was often reassigned a new catalog number with the MMS prefix as well. Caribbean pressings of these albums on their original labels can be found in Island Series covers made in Canada. Likewise, Canadian pressings can be found in Caribbean-made covers.
