Discos Fama was one of the most prominent Regional Mexican labels in the United States in the 1970's and 80's. Founded in 1968 by Arthur Walker, it was where legendary Mexican bands including Los Tigres Del Norte, Los Humildes, Bronco, Chavela Y Su Grupo Express, among others, have kicked off their musical careers. Many of these artists would later join Fonovisa in the mid-1980's and have achieved international success since then. After years of inactivity, Fama Records now serves as the Spanish division of Brea, CA-based Thump Records, which specializes in low-rider music.
