Image Recordings is no longer active. The following profile comes from a 2012 archive of the label's website: Founded in 1999 by acclaimed flutist and conductor [a1307558] and award-winning engineer and producer [a920681], Image Recordings chooses its releases for artistic rather than economic reasons. Successful performers and ensembles who have escaped the attention of major labels, unusual repertoire ordinarily deemed non-commercial, and re-releases of beautiful but no longer available recordings from other companies will find their home on Image. The new label uses the latest, most-natural sounding microphones and equipment, recording in 24-bit Digital and Sony’s newest format, DSD®. Image utilizes recording techniques designed specifically to capture the artist at his or her best.
