Norðurlandahúsið

"Nordens Hus" (in Scandinavian) / "The Nordic House" (in English) is a Nordic art and culture house in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Faroese Parliament. Inaugurated 8 May 1983. The house is run as a Nordic institution of art and culture with a diverse programme of music, literature, theatre, film, visual arts, lectures, conferences and much more. The architecture of the house mirrors the Nordic voice with Finnish furniture, Norwegian slate, Swedish Wood, Danish glass and steel, an Icelandic roof constuction, and Faroese grass on top of the roof.
