Non-Event

Non-Event is a Boston-based concert series devoted to the presentation of experimental, abstract, improvised, and adventurous music from New England and around the world. History Founded in 2001, Non-Event has presented over 350 concerts in and around Boston in a wide variety of venues from coffee shops, galleries, and loft spaces to former movie palaces, university lecture halls, museums, night clubs, 19th-century ballrooms, a Victorian-era pumping station, and inside Boston's iconic City Hall. Non-Event has worked with numerous organizations and venues over the years, including ACT at MIT; AgX film collective; Arts@MIT; Aviary Gallery; Balagan experimental film series; Boston Center for the Arts; Boston Cyberarts; Café Fixe; DRAW; Film Studies Center at Harvard; ICA Boston; Le Laboratoire Cambridge; Massachusetts College of Art and Design; Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture (City of Boston); Media Lab at MIT; Goethe-Institut Boston; MIT List Visual Art Center; Mmmmaven Productions; Mobius; Modern Theatre at Suffolk University; New England Conservatory; Rhode Island School of Design; School at the Museum of Fine Arts; Sensory Ethnography Lab at Harvard; Spectacle; Studio Soto; swissnex Boston; Together Festival; Metropolitan Waterworks Museum; UMass Dartmouth; WHRB; and WZBC.
