The Asahi Gramophone Co., Ltd.
Настоящее имя: The Asahi Gramophone Co., Ltd.
株式會社アサヒ蓄音器商會 (The Asahi Gramophone Co., Ltd., Spelled on some releases as Asahi Tikuonki Co., Ltd., Shinjitai: 株式会社アサヒ蓄音器商会) is a Japanese record company. Established in Nagoya in June 1925.
In 1939, the company was forced to outsource its recording to Taihei due to the failure of its recording equipment. In January of the same year, the company's buildings and machinery were sold, and in July, the majority of the company's stock was transferred.
中西商会 (Nakanishi Shōkai), who had taken over the company's shares, continued to manufacture records, but most of them were recordings of other companies' master recordings or reissues of old recordings. The company ceased its record manufacturing business in 1940.
On January 13, 1943, the company's registration was changed to アサヒ合成工業 (Asahi Gōsei Kōgyō), completely ending its history as a record company.
