WarnerMedia

WarnerMedia, LLC. was a mass media conglomerate based in New York City. It was originally known as Kinney National Company from 1966 to 1972, Warner Communications from 1972 to 1990, Time Warner from 1990 to 2001, AOL Time Warner from 2001 to 2006, Time Warner again from 2006 to 2018. It consists of Warner Bros., HBO, TBS, TNT, DC Comics, Cartoon Network, CNN, among many others. It was formerly a part of a merger with Time Magazine, a unit of Time Inc. in 1990 and with AOL in 2001; AOL was divested in 2006 as so with Time in 2018 following the AT&T acquisition of WarnerMedia. WarnerMedia was also formerly a parent owner of the Warner Music Group, consisting of Atlantic, Parlophone, Elektra and Warner Records. It was sold off to Access Industries in 2004. In 2022, WarnerMedia was spun off from AT&T to merge with Discovery, Inc., forming Warner Bros. Discovery.
