Melotone (4)

Australian label produced in 1929 by Clifford Industries Ltd. (despite the fictitious Melotone Record Co. credit on the labels). It was sold in Foy & Gibsons stores in Sydney (as indicated by the "FG" prefix on the first releases on this label). All issues use masters from U.S. Cameo, Pathe & Gennett. No connection with the more famous U.S. label of the same name produced by Brunswick which did not start until late 1930.
