RCA/JIVE Label Group

RCA/JIVE Label Group was a short-lived label group operating under that name from approximately August 2008 until June 2011. The group was originally formed as BMG Label Group in September 2007 under Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The group basically consisted of BMG's portion of the Sony BMG merger. In August 2008, the Sony BMG merger dissolved with Sony purchasing the rest of BMG from Bertelsmann. Because Bertelsmann retained the use of the BMG name, Sony renamed the group to RCA/Jive Label Group. In mid-2011, the group was once again split as most of the Jive half of the group became the Epic Label Group, while the RCA Music Group continued.
