La Cité de la Voix, Vezelay
Настоящее имя: La Cité de la Voix, Vezelay
The Cité de la Voix de Vézelay is a unique place steeped in history. In 1698, the administration of King Louis XIV decided to reunite the three surrounding clumsinesses in one place and in Vézelay, in a property situated at the top of the town, "the Pierre Rollet House". For almost three centuries, the establishment retained its function as a hospital, but in the 1960s it was transformed into a retirement home to which a light psychiatric unit was added a little later. The construction of a new building for the disabled at the place known as "La Maladrerie" led to the permanent closure of its doors.
Since 2012, an artistic residency programme, a public season and cultural actions throughout the region are being developed. In 2015, Arsys Bourgogne, the Rencontres Musicales de Vézelay and the activities of the Cité de la Voix merge to create a single public establishment. In 2019, Arsys Bourgogne's activities cease. In 2020, the Cité de la Voix, the Pôle Voix du lab and Franche-Comté mission voix merge and give way to the establishment "Cité de la Voix Vézelay / Bourgogne Franche-Comté", which has a presence throughout the region.
