Ram-A-Phone Disc Record

A little known indigenous record label of India by the name of RAM-A-PHONE DISC RECORD was first placed on the market in India in September 1907, and continued to be marketed there until about 1940. The fact that this record label survived for over thirty years in India, is primarily due to the business acumen of several generations of the Ramchunder family of Bombay, whose association with the marketing of musical instruments goes back to 1851.
