Thalia Theater, IJmuiden

Dutch theatre and events venue. Originally built in 1890 as a catholic church, soon becoming too small for the congregation. The building remained vacant for some time and then became a basket and net manufacturer for the IJmuiden fishing fleet. In 1910 is was converted into a movie theatre, changing the style from gothic to Amsterdamse School and art deco. It remained a cinema until 1969 when it again became vacant until 1996 when it was renovated to it's former glory and designated as a theatre and events venue.
