Casa Tagini
Настоящее имя: Casa Tagini
Argentinean record store & company owned by brothers Juan B. Tagini and José Tagini.
In 1907, they enter a deal with Columbia Phonograph Company Gen'l and become exclusive sellers of Columbia. The first records recorded in Casa Tagini are Fonogramas Marconi, argentine variant of Marconi Velvet-Tone Record. By 1910 Columbia proper is commercialized, and Disco Doble Columbia, variant of Columbia Double-Disc, is registered in 1912.
In either 1909 or 1910, Tagini eners a deal with German company Polyphonwerke A.-G.. A series of recordings made 1909-1911, matrix number 20XXX, appear under the label Polyphon Record, later reissued, possibly illegally, by labels Tele-Phone and Gayarre. A series of 1913-1914 recordings, matrix number 28XXX where released by a series of Polyphonwerke labels and labels of Tagini's own design and 28XXX, such as Kronophon, Oro-Phon, Apolo Record, Premier Record, Sonora (22), Arena-Record, and Tocasolo Sin Rival
Tagini also licensed Polyphon exclusivity rights to a small number of music stores from other cities, such records surfaced as Relsie-Record, Ferrari Record and El Ruiseñor.
The record store went backrupt in 1915 due to complications of the first world war. Columbia wouldn't re-enter the market until the 20s. Some of the Polyphonwerke discs were pirated by other labels.
Casa Tagini, like all record stores - record companies in the 00s and 10s, can be identified by the sticker on the record, and may be referenced on the original cardboard sleeve of the record.
