Bluemoon

US sister label to Mesa (2). See also: Bluemoon Recordings Partners George Nauful and Jim Snowden created Mesa/Bluemoon for adult alternative music in May 1989, with the support of former Mesa/Bluemoon distributor Rhino Records Inc., after leaving Passport Records where they created Passport Jazz. Mesa/Bluemoon joined Atlantic Records in 1994 and, in 1997, Nauful made Mesa/Bluemoon a component in Atlantic's Jazz & Classics Div. Starting with jazz, Bluemoon added R&B, smooth jazz & hip-hop jazz.
