Former jazz club in Atlanta, Georgia that opened in 1960, it became known as Atlanta's "jazz mecca". It featured artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Jimmy Smith, Aretha Franklin, The Ramsey Lewis Trio, Gladys Knight, The Paul Mitchell Trio, and Lou Rawls. It was the only nightclub in Atlanta open to blacks in the then-segregated city. An estimated 60 percent of the club's clientele were white.
