Recording Arts Canada
Настоящее имя: Recording Arts Canada
Recording Arts Canada is a music post-secondary school (college) focused on sound engineering and audio production. It is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and has two campuses: one in Montreal, another in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The roots of the school date back to 1980 when Nick Keca opened the recording studio A.R.P. Track Productions in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. The studio grew rapidly and in 1984 he registered the name Recordings Arts Program of Canada as a school, offering students the opportunity to learn about sound engineering. The classes took place at the studio.
In 1989 he opened a second studio (with the same name) in Sainte-Anne-Des-Lacs, Quebec, Canada (a cottage-country area in the Laurentian Mountains, about an hour north of Montreal). The classes were also offered at the new studio facility in Quebec.
Throughout the 1990's, A.R.P. Track Productions became a learning ground for many aspiring audio engineers, many of whom were given the opportunity to start out as technicians on reputable recording sessions. In 1998 the name of the school program, Recordings Arts Program of Canada, was legally shortened to Recording Arts Canada. In 2001, the Sainte-Anne-Des-Lacs campus relocated to downtown Montreal on Saint-Jean Street. A year later, the former DMS Studios/Studio Nostre Dame locals on Notre Dame Street West in Montreal were taken over and became the new Montreal location for Recording Arts Canada.
In 2004, the Ontario campus in Stoney Creek was moved to Toronto on Peter Street.
