HIGH TECHNICAL ANALOG RECORDING
All longplay records included in this "Master Plus" repertoire have been produced or newly mixed up in 24 or 36 track recordings in studios which are on the highest technical level.
The producers have quite consciously renounced of digital recording equipment so that the analog technique of the multi-track-recorder (mixing up) is in no way weakened. Besides this the analog recording machine can be balanced higher which leads to a considerably increased dynamic volume. Thus high impulses can be reproduced undiminished.
In order to avoid any tape noise of the recording all "tape to tape" copies have been filtered by "dbx-1" noise reduction system - with a result which is only very slightly different from a digital copy. By choosing a tape speed of 76 cmps in recording and cutting area a positive contribution to the above quality characteristics can be reached.
GALVANICS
The development of the pressing metal parts is made with an extremly low electricity. The advantage due to the high quality of the metal parts is a slow and fine nickel metallization.
PRESSING
For the pressing only pur PVC - which means mixed without recycling (mixing with already pressed LP's) - is used. The material is normally only used for classical productions. Final step of the quality control of the LP's is an external check and occasional hearing test.
MASTERING CUTTING
High Level Mastering
A NEUMANN cutting machine "VMS 70" with a new NEUMANN cutting socket and, for cutting amplifire, appliances in high speed technique and a minimum power of 600 W per channel are used. The high speed technique and the high starting power guarantee a large impulse speed and thus a signal transfer of the tape material without any distortion and in the correct phase ("Dephased preview system").
Due to a new track leading of the cutting stylus (program controlled pitch) the volume level of the LP could be increased by an average of 6 db compared with the normal cutting technique. This is approximately equal to a maxi single. Resulting from the higher volume the normal noise level of the PVC is reduced by the level of the higher volume of the LP.
