The Duomo Vecchio ("Old Cathedral"), Brescia dates from the 11th Century, built on the site of an earlier basilica.
It houses an organ built in 1536 by Gian Giacomo Antegnati, and restored in 1826 by Serassi of Bergamo. Despite tastes having changed over 300 years, Serassi retained the most part of Antegnati’s masterpiece including a great deal of the old pipework: a clear sign that he admired the older master’s work.
