CBS Magazines

American magazine publisher, also known as CBS Publications, active between 1972 and 1988, initially as CBS's internal division. In October 1987, Peter G. Diamandis, a president of CBS Magazines, led the management/employee buyout and the company went independent. In April 1988, Peter sold the majority stake to Hachette Filipacchi Médias, a French conglomerate and one of the largest magazine publishers in the world, and established Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S.
