The Egg opened in 1978, houses two theatres: the Lewis A. Swyer Theatre and the Kitty Carlisle Hart Theatre on Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York, USA. Please use the correct venue if known.

The construction of The Egg - the Empire State Plaza's Center for the Performing Arts - began in 1966 and was completed twelve years later in 1978. It was designed by architect Wallace K. Harrison.
“The Egg” itself is owned by the State of New York and managed by the not-for-profit Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza Performing Arts Center Corporation.
