90watts was founded by Jeroen van Meeteren and Giorgio Schultz in 1997 as a place to release their own music. At the end they only released one EP together that year including the ‘Velvet Vision’ song that got licensed to Global Underground for John Digweed’s GU006 compilation. After that one off release, the activity on 90watts remained quiet until 2006 when Jeroen decided to bring new life to the imprint as a digital label. In the years that followed 90watts grew out to be a household label in the global electronic music scene, releasing music by artists such as El Mundo & Satori, Roger Martinez, Tigerskin, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Sasse, Van Meeteren & Hyde, Dennis Ruyer, PrinsJan, Estroe, Arjuna Schiks, Orlando Voorn and many many others until 2012 when Jeroen decided to explore other ventures, mainly his audio visual project Hi-Fi Mysteryschool and ‘The Vision Room’, his own sacred geometric art gallery. Always having been a friend of the imprint, Paul Hazendonk has bought 90watts at the end of 2016 for his Manual Music record company, with the plan of bringing new life into the legendary label early 2017!
