Eastown Theatre

Eastown Theatre (also known as Eastowne Theatre) was a 2,500-seat theater located in Detroit, Michigan. Opening on October 1, 1931, it operated as a movie theater until being converted into a rock venue in 1969 until closed in 1973. During 1975–1977, it was renamed the Showcase Theatre and reopened as a play, music and jazz hall with 2,000 seats reinstalled. The theater was demolished on November 18, 2015 after siting empty for several years, partly destroyed by fire on August 9, 2010 and falling into extreme disrepair.
