The Historic Record Society

The Historic Record Society (HRS) is a society dedicated to small pressings of recordings of special interest, issued for members or subscribers only, run by William Speckin of Chicago. Many issues were repressings from original masters, other issues were unreleased recordings from record company vaults deemed of little commercial value. Often these recordings were of very high quality, typically of classical or operatic material, issued for connoisseurs of particular singers, conductors, and orchestras.
