Digital Audio Technologies Australia
Настоящее имя: Digital Audio Technologies Australia
Digital Audio Technologies Australia was a CD and cassette factory established in 1992 in Sydney, Australia as a joint venture between EMI and Warner Music Australia. It was sold to Summit Technology Australia Pty Ltd (located at SM) at the end of 2004 and sold again to Discworld in 2014.
"D.A.T.A." can be seen in the matrix area of CDs glass mastered by D.A.T.A.
Some CDs may have matrices bearing the details of other companies, such as Disctronics B, SM, or DW (2) but have D.A.T.A. logos printed on the disc face.
Care must be taken when attributing any role to D.A.T.A. in the above instances, as these may have been pressed after D.A.T.A's acquisition. For example:
- SM pressings bearing the usual Australian matrix profile (see https://www.discogs.com/Joy-Division-Substance/release/8138461#images/21954151 ). These are generally post-2004 issues bearing legacy artwork.
- DW (Discworld) pressings (these will be post-2014 reissues, e.g. Diamonds And Pearls ).
Other discs may have been pressed by D.A.T.A., but had their glass mastered elsewhere. However, due to the widespread use of legacy disc artwork bearing the D.A.T.A. logo, caution should be exercised when attributing a role to D.A.T.A. in these instances. Where uncertainty exists, the forum should be consulted.
