Nebula BOS Records

Founded in 1997 by musician/writer Michael Tellinger and business partner Simon de Haast, Nebula BOS Records was "set up to act as a distribution company for independent South African record labels and artists into the retail market." The "BOS" part of the name was an acronym for "Birthplace Of Stars". At their peak the independent company could boast some 400 artists across all possible genres in their catalogue (A&R was handled by one Mark Harris) and managed to release a few domestic artists in Germany and the USA via EastWest/Warner. Locally, they were distributed via the Musica, Top CD and CD Wherehouse chain stores and billed as an "Indie Music Explosion" initiative. However, by 2001 the company had disappeared.
