Suburban Sprawl Music
Настоящее имя: Suburban Sprawl Music
Livonia, MI indie label founded in 1999 by Erik Koppin. In 2003, Koppin passed the reigns of the label over to Adam Kempa. Kempa transitioned the label to a collective model, with each band on the roster having a say in the label's activity. Kempa's The Pop Project bandmate Zach Curd particularly took an active role in this period. In 2007, the label was purchased by Ann Arbor, MI label Quack! Media, after which it was run as a subsidiary of Quack!, with Curd as the employee of both labels. Since Curd's departure in 2013, the label has been inactive except for legacy acts using the label's name but essentially self-releasing their albums, such as Do Go On.
In addition to the bands on its roster, from 2001-2013 the label released an annual holiday compilation through an open submission policy, posted for free download on its website and given away on CD at December shows. The compilations included a wide variety of bands and one-off projects from the Detroit scene and beyond.
