Schweiz. Tonkünstlerverein

The Swiss Society of Musicians (in German: Schweizerischer Tonkünstlerverein - STV; in French: Association Suisse des Musiciens - ASM) was a music professional association for new music in Switzerland, based in Lausanne in the canton of Vaud. It existed from 1900 until December 31, 2017. It was central to the development of contemporary music in Switzerland. With its annual Tonkünstlerfest (Festival of Musicians), it provided a showcase for the latest domestic creativity. The STV was co-initiator and co-organizer of record and CD series, sponsor of the magazine Dissonance, awarded scholarships and prizes, facilitated working residencies, organized orchestral rehearsals of new works and was involved in cultural politics.
