V2 Uitgave

A cassette only label from 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands as part of V2 Organisation. Concurrently V2 was also an artist run venue in a squatted building, a shop and a concert organizer. The associated profiles on Discogs are V2 Organisation (for the organisation) and V2, 's-Hertogenbosch (for the venue). The first release was by Merzbow in 1984, one of the first Merzbow titles to appear outside of Japan. The releases that followed in the early years were mainly recordings of concerts that were organised by V2, such as Laibach or Test Dept. All these early releases featured V2 UITGAVE (translated V2 edition or V2 release) as a label name. In the late 1980s it was felt that the shop and label should be an independent foundation - mainly to try and get grants from the government to release things and possible get funding to employ somebody full-time. The resulting foundation was called V2_Archief.
