German state-run three-party theater with music theater, drama, dance, children's and youth theater as well as concert business. The construction from the years 1955 to 1959, executed according to the plans of the architects Paul Bode and Ernst Brundig, replaced the predecessor building destroyed in 1943, the Hoftheater, also known as Preußisches Staatstheater.
