American record company that issued pirated editions of popular releases. They went defunct in 1973 when the U.S. enacted a much more stringent copyright law. All their releases had the same generic "Crown & Scepter" cover. Appearances are: On the 8-track cartridges we find Melody Recording, Inc. On the rear cover of the LPs we find Melody Recordings, Inc. On the labels we find Melody Rec., Inc. Rear cover info from the LPs: This product is manufactured under the highest standards for excellent sound quality and stereophonic reproduction.
