Duophone Record
Настоящее имя: Duophone Record
For records mentioning "Duophone Record" and which were released between 1926 and 1929, please use this label. Please see The Duophone and Duophone Unbreakable Record for related labels. Records on this label bears catalog numbers with D-4001 upward series (from August 1928, when it gained control of British Brunswick), or F-2001 upwards (from 1929).
A rather eccentric record label with several different label names and a bewildering number of catalogue series produced by The Duophone Syndicate (63 Queen Victoria St, London) whose main product was a gramophone with dual soundboxes that supposedly enhanced sound quality.
The earliest record releases in October 1925 were on The Duophone label, and made of the usual shellac by Vocalion. Later (1926-1929) releases were on the Duophone Record (both shellac and "unbreakable" pressings) and on the Duophone Unbreakable Record labels.
