Swedish company based in Sundbyberg. Started as a manufacturer of steel wire and Bakelite, but branched into pressing machinery for records, and manufacturing records.
Milestones:
1888 - Founded by Max Sievert.
1928 - Sold to LM Ericsson.
Ca 1932 - start manufacturing pressing machinery for records.
Christmas 1932 - First shellac 78 rpm pressed - manufacturing records for Sonora.
1958 - Pressing of shellac 78 rpm stopped. Continued manufacturing vinyl (7" and LP).
1967-12-06 - Last mention of company name AB Alpha in Swedish press.
Turn of the year 1967-68 - The manufacturing of vinyl sold to Ulvsunda Gummifabrik (later renamed Ulvex AB) - owned by Trelleborg
Sometime between 1967-69 - The pressing machinery part of the business probably sold/transferred to Toolex Håma AB (later presumably renamed Toolex Alpha AB)
